Gerhard Maree is a musician and founder/owner of City Soirée, a Cape Town-based organisation established in 2010 with the objective of finding a sustainable funding model for the performing arts. City Soirée is currently focusing on crowdfunding live events with the duel-objective of creating income for artists as well as making events happen that might not have been possible in the past and thus helping facilitate much needed change in the performing arts economy.
