The Plastics release All I really want

Following on the success of their previous two albums, Shark and Pyramid, the indie rock quartet has returned with All I really want. The track is full of tricks, synthesisers and has an angular rock groove that is radio ready and nods to 80s new wave. With its slick studio treatment, atmospheric breakdown and falsetto vocals, much of All I really want isn’t exactly what you would expect from The Plastics.  

 

 

In the past the band has been compared to a lot of things, worked with a lot of people and made a lot of friends. Their musical offerings and work ethic have been described as innovative, guerrilla retro rock and melody, amongst others. Over time, the indie rock four-piece has gained a cult following that tends to turn their sentences into acronyms. By getting the dance floor riled up, The Plastics are set out to take over the world, or at least play some pretty damn good gigs along the way.

 

All I really want has also received the remix treatment from both Swimming and Raiven Hunter. Swimming is the moniker of Sean Ross and he’s given his own Chillstep inspired spin of the song that features hip-hop undertones. On Raiven Hunter’s remix, he has stripped the track back with another take on the Chillstep genre. 

 

2014 seems like a fresh start for the band, with The Plastics taking their time with producing new material, introducing a new guitar player to the lineup and making sure to give the old and new fans something of real substance to digest. The band is currently working on a new EP set for release early 2015.
