Roxxi, South Africa’s 2013 Global Spin Award-winner for 'Best African DJ, will release her debut album this year through producer Trompie's new record label BeatMachine Records, which will be releasing the album throughout Africa.

“Making the transition from the DJ booth to the production studio is a dream come true. My vision is to not only develop my own career, but to also positively influence the perception of female music talent across Africa. Working with BeatMachine has been pure creative bliss; I was given free reins to deliver a cutting-edge new sound with heartfelt passion,” explains Roxxi.

The first single off the album, 'Musica Na Alma' will feature TV personality, Weza Solange who is signed to BeatMachine Records as well.

“Switching from the TV screen to the music studio was a huge leap for me but I am so excited to have pushed my self in terms of creativity. The song from Roxxi’s new album is inspiring, sexy and most of all: it makes you want to dance!” says Solange.

Remix EP

Plans are also underway for the release of Roxxi's remix EP in June, featuring new versions of 'Musica Na Alma'. Channel O’s So You Think You Can DJ winner, King P, was responsible for the first remix of the track. It will be released along with five other new remixes and distributed through AfriCori on iTunes, BeatPort and 30 other platforms throughout Africa.

“BeatMachine’s support enabled me to produce the album I envisioned. I hope my work assists in inspiring others, particularly women, to rise up and make their voices heard – further inspiring diversity, open-minded creative spirit and boundless energy conveyed through music,” states ROXXI.
