Understanding SAMRO licensing

18 Jul 2014 7:14 AM

The Southern African Music Rights Organisation (SAMRO) has released a simple video explaining how its licensing works.

The video explains SAMRO's business as it relates to the licensing of music users such as: pub, clubs, restaurants, live performance venues and other businesses that benefit from the use of music which is protected under copyright.

These licence fees that are paid are distributed as royalty income to SAMRO members who consist of composers, songwriters and publishers.
