Short & Sweet Music Video Awards open for entries
Short & Sweet recently announced the launch of its inaugural Short & Sweet Music Video Awards, aiming to celebrate South African filmmaking talent in the music video category.
Short & Sweet Music Video Awards categories:
- Best Hip Hop Video
- Best Kwaito Video
- Best Rock Video
- Best Live Coverage
- Best Music Advertisement (TV or online)
- Best Art Direction and Design in a Video
- Best Styling in a Video
- Best Cinematography in a Video
- Best Editing in a Video
- Best Visual Effects in a Video
- Best Animation in a Video
- Best Colour Grade in a Video
- Best Choreography in a Video
- Best New Director
- Best Original Concept for a Video
Categories will be judged by top industry professionals, both local and international. A full list of judges will be available online soon.
Films up to five years old (2009-2014) will be accepted, and any South African over the age of 16 who has been involved in the creation of a music video within this period may enter. South African production companies, record labels, independent producers/directors, cinematographers and all other industry specialists are encouraged to enter. The entry fee is R150 per video.

Prizes
The winner of each category will receive a trophy
All winners will have their films immediately entered into the UKMVA’s
The Best New Director will be signed to the UK music video producers Caviar Content for a period of one year.
