Design Indaba Music showcase lineup announced

For three days, Design Indabar will showcase an array of African music at the Delegate Clubhouse across the road from the CTICC after the conference. On Thursday, 26 February, Design Indaba's main music event takes place at Side Show, presenting a sonic explosion of African talent.

Nástio Mosquito

 

Nástio Mosquito is a multimedia and performance artist working with music, videos, spoken word poetry and a capella.

 

Nongoma

 

Nongoma is a multi-genre singer-songwriter from Johannesburg. Her name translates as “the mother of song” in Zulu but this songstress doesn’t just belt out the soulful tunes – she writes, composes and produces them too.

 

 

RVWR

 

Beatmaker, producer, binge session track writer, RVRW (pronounced "roar") is Cape Town's trap 'n' bass hero. He recently released his collaboration with Brooklyn-based MC Shamon Cassette to international acclaim.

 

 

M.anifest

 

M.anifest is an internationally acclaimed award-winning musician from Accra, Ghana. Described as “Ghana’s rapper supreme” by Rita Ray of the BBC, M.anifest’s originality, lyricism, flow and depth in content havw made him one of contemporary Africa’s most keenly watched.

 

Honey B

 

Honey B has been more than instrumental in spreading and growing Cape Town’s electronic music scene beyond its own borders. As one of the founding members of the iconic African Dope Records label, her nurturing of local talent has been absolutely crucial in building and innovating the sound of artists she has taken under her wing.
