Singer, songwriter and actor Steve Hofmeyr, love him or hate him, is one of the most well-known entertainers in South Africa. He's just turned 50, and is celebrating with the release of photographic book, Steve Hofmeyr: 50.
Published by Random House Struik, the book features photographs of Hofmeyr's youth and his breakthrough years in the music business. It covers his career in TV, films and musicals. The book follows his career as a musician, telling stories about each of his albums and showing him on stage, backstage and on the road. It also features his relationship with the media, his activism and charity work, as well as his career as a writer.
The book is said to provide a wealth of photographs captioned by Hofmeyr himself.
With 25 years in the music business, his discography stretches all the way back to 1989 with the release of Desertbound right up to 2014 with Toeka Nie Meer Nie.
