Gangs of Ballet recently announced the departure of its bassist, Hardus de Beer, from the band. Hardus, also known a H, will be departing from the band to focus on his career as a chiropractor.

“H is such an amazing person and such a talented musician. We are going to miss having him on stage and on the road with us, but we're so excited to see him pursue something else that he's so passionate about and has worked so hard towards. We really wish him all the best!” says the band.

“It's a sad thing leaving the band - we've had some amazing experiences together and I will miss being with the guys. I believe Gangs has much ahead of them, and I look forward to seeing them excel. On the same note, I am very excited about my future as a chiropractor, it's incredibly rewarding to treat patients and see them get better,” says De Beer.

The band will continue playing as a three-piece in the future; they are currently working on a follow-up to yes/no/grey. The band sees it as an exciting process with a chance to re-invent themselves and push themselves musically.

The Feb/March Gangs of Ballet will embark on a 'Farewell to The H of Bass' tour. For details, check out their Facebook page
